For those families and children less fortunate we have teamed up with a favourite charity Windermere and are participating in their Merry Mission program.

All appointments seen from 12/11/19 – 10/12 will receive a discount on their dental visit, as long as the money saved is used to purchase a gift for a child in need and place it under our tree.

We will personally deliver to Windermere on 10/12 who will sort gifts and distribute to the families that need them the most.

So if anytime was a good time to visit us, now you will also be helping the community have a magical Christmas.

Every day we are treating patients who have developed jaw pain from teeth grinding or clenching.

They may be busy professionals, stay at home mums, Teachers, or Tradesman.

The common reason that we keep hearing as to why people have developed this habit is Stress!

Stress contributes to many physiological factors that can manifest in someone’s lifetime.

For us in the Dental field, we notice it in the health of our patient’s teeth, gums, and surrounding structures.

There are 2 ways we can treat TMJ disorders of the jaw.

The first is with a guard we make customised for each patient that they wear overnight to protect the teeth from wear and place the jaw in a comfortable resting position.

Some patients require additional treatment if the TMJ pain is quite severe.

Successful treatments include Botox for the Masseter muscle to relax the action of grinding and therefore eliminate the pain.

So it got us thinking…

We already provide Bulk billing services for children between the age of 2-17 through the government funded child dental scheme. How could we help others that may not be able to able to afford dental treatment or are on long waiting waits in the public health system?

Thankfully we came across an article about the ADF. The Australian Dental Foundation work in coordination with many charities and job search
agencies across Victoria to provide Dental Rescue days. We decided this would fit with who we are as a practice and held our first clinic on Friday 2/8/19.

It was really amazing to see all of our staff volunteer their time for such a great cause and be able to make a difference in these patients’ lives.
