Many problems to do with improper dental alignment are due to infant habits like thumb sucking, which causes changes to teeth and jaw structure – however, accidents and facial trauma have also been known to cause the misalignment of a patient’s dentition.

Metal Brackets (Most Common Type)
Metal brackets offer the most common type of orthodontic support, with an arch-wire to hold the bracket in place. Although the arch-wire may need periodic adjustment, the planning of orthodontic support is done using computer software to ensure accurate support is provided to patients.
Ceramic brackets present another option that is cosmetically more appealing to patients. However, they can be costlier than metal brackets, and require a more prolonged period to wear.
No-Braces (Invisible Braces)
Other options for orthodontic treatment include no-braces treatments, such as clear aligner therapy like the popular Invisalign method. With such treatments, teeth correction is performed using a series of computer-tailored clear plates. This procedure is mostly suitable for adults with mild to moderate crowding, or spacing issues in their teeth.
